These are bricks used in building a structure. They are good for supporting both tension and compression. Which makes them able to hole weight on top of them or suspend it below them. This and wood are the two materials that can do both. They are used often in the buildings in boston. By Emily

Collins first history post

Yesterday we walked around harvard and we learned a intresting fact. Yesterday we learned around the Freedom trail and visited different historic monuments. Some of the ones we visited were the Boston Common where there was a cow pasture and the training field for the militia. There was also the Granary Burial Ground, and the Old North Church. The Burial Ground was where famous patriots were buried like John Hancock, Paul Revere and Sam Adams. The Old North Church is Bostons oldest church built in 1723. Probably its most historic event was when two laterns hung out a window signaling the British Army was departing boats from Boston to Cambridge before moving on to Lexington and Concord. This evebt happened April 15, 1775

The population of the American Colonies was a very important part to the outcome of the revalution from England. As the colonies grew in population they had more people to produce goods and join in the army. So as the colonies multiplied and expanded it was benifical to the our come of the U.S Revalution.

Math grant. Today we learned about when the british fought the colonists in the american revolution. The british had 700 people while the colonists had 70 people. Then the colonists number in population started to get biggr and bigger untill they were able to match up to the british. The number of each the british and colonists both changed and that became a very important factor tot the revolution.
Music grant. Today at the plymoth plantation music was a big part in the natives and colonists culture. The wompanoga would have social songs and dances during rituals. Also they used a drum called a water durm that when different amounts of water were put in it it would make different pitches. Also they played rattles and sticks to keep beat during a song. The colonists would not play music for fun. They would just play drums horns and sing for the king or anyone that us really important.

Collin fun post

Hey this is my first fun post so here I go. On sunday well we were in the plane we got to play this trivia game on the screens that were on the baxk of the seat in front of us. The reason the game was so fun was because we got to answer all kinds of different questions from different categories. The categories range from sports, science, entertainment, geography, general knowledge and histroy. Sadly I never won haha but I still had fun. That was my first fun post
Grant science. Today we learned about the nature that the womponaga had to live in. The natives talked about how trees were a big part of living. It was one of the most vital objects used to live a normal life. Trees were used for fire wood cooking food making canoes and build houses
Grant for fun. Today i got to feed the goats at the plimoth plantation. The goats would eat anything that was green. They would eat out of my hands. Also i got to see a bull. It was very scary but cool at the same time. Also the bus ride was very fun! The ride to new york was NOT boring.u

The patriots of the revolutionary war are a lot like the Native Americans. The United States Militia was just like English troops when batteling. Standing a randomly shooting across to the enemy. Then the Americans adapted the, Natives fighting style. So in the revolutionary war instead of batteling like the british, they would hide behind rockwalls. This suprised the British and made them mad, but it saved many Militian. As a result of the revolution, if there is a rockwall it was mostlikely a hiding place for Militia men.
When we were walking down to the natives we found some leaves that looked like poisen ivy. We searched them and found out

History in Plimoth
This is a picture of a replica of a house from the living history Plimoth village of settlers. The settlers sailed from britain maily for religious freedom and settled where the native americans were. They wew not very sanitary and brought desease to the land. Even though the settlers came for religious freedom they then made the natives convert.

This house in Plimoth Plantation is made out of wood, which is good in compression. It also is a support beam that is used to form a triangle, which is the best shape for handling forces.

At Plimoth we had a chance to ask the actors what it was like to be living in the 17th century. One question I was able to ask the actors was what they had for food. He said that it was alot on bread and meat.

Today we went to Lexington and Concord and learned how the revolutionary war started. The shot around the world was the first gounfire in the revolutionary war. There are two different opinions, some say it happened at Lexington nad others at Concord. I believe it happened at Lexington because there is no way the British troops marched all the way to Concord with out any shots fired. The Revolutionary War begun with a random shot from a person that no one knows. No one knows and ever will know who fired that shot. The first shot in the revolutionary war is a Mystery.
